She was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital a day earlier after suffering from a chest infection and extreme exhaustion. Reports stated that she died due to multi-organ failure.Her mortal remains were kept at her residence Casa Grande in Lower Parel before the funeral on April 13, which was conducted with full state honours at the Shivaji Park crematorium. The venue holds emotional significance for the family as her sister Lata Mangeshkar was also cremated there.Several prominent personalities from the film, music and sports fraternity attended the last rites, including Sachin Tendulkar and his wife Anjali Tendulkar, Tabu, Asha P
