Google is testing a Verified Email system on Android that could remove the need for OTPs and email links during app sign-ups. According to Android Developers, the feature uses Credential Manager to confirm a user’s email instantly through a secure on-device credential. A native prompt lets users approve access in one tap. The system can also support account recovery and sensitive actions, though developers are advised to keep fallback verification methods.
