Google has filed a lawsuit against Outsider Enterprise, a cybercrime network it alleges used AI-powered phishing tools to run large-scale scam campaigns through fraudulent text messages. The company said the operation was linked to more than one million malicious URLs, thousands of fake websites and hundreds of thousands of victims. Google is working with the FBI, AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon to disrupt the network. It is also backing legislation aimed at strengthening protections against AI-enabled scams and online fraud.
