Financial infrastructure company OpenPayd has received authorisation under the European Union’s Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation, allowing it to operate as a crypto asset service provider across the European Economic Area through passporting. The licence, granted by Malta’s financial regulator, comes just days before the bloc’s MiCA transition deadline. The approval enables OpenPayd to expand services such as fiat on-ramp and off-ramp infrastructure for stablecoins across European markets.
