Google has showcased a new way for users to verify the authenticity of the OS their Android smartphone is running. The Mountain View-based tech giant showcased the new Android OS Verification tool recently during The Android Show: I/O Edition, which was held as part of the company’s upcoming Google I/O developer conference. The company said that the new OS verification tool will arrive with the Android 17 update, which is expected to be rolled out to select Google Pixel phones soon. Google claims that the feature will help in curbing the distribution of unofficial and modified versions of Android.
