Samsung and Huawei are said to be testing 200-megapixel main rear cameras with variable apertures. The Galaxy S27 Ultra, which is likely to launch early next year, will likely include this feature. Variable aperture offers improvements over the fixed apertures available in current Galaxy S series smartphones. Samsung implemented the variable aperture technology in the Galaxy S9 in 2018. Apple could also use this in its upcoming iPhone 18 Pro series.
